Blockless Monthly Progress Update — April 2023

Blockless is a zk verifiable execution network that makes dApp building easier than ever. Our platform empowers Web3 engineers to create faster, superior, and high-performance dApps. You can find more about Blockless via our Website, Twitter, and blog posts!

Here is a summary of what we achieved in April 2023:

  • Blockless Function became live to the public
  • Published new developer documentation and tutorial
  • Kick-starting BNB Chain ZERO2HERO Hackathon
  • Aggregation consensus mechanism made available

Blockless Product & Engineering

Blockless Functions is now live

After one year of building, we are proud to release Blockless Functions to the public. Now you can truly experience the unlimited possibilities that the Blockless protocol offers.

A major issue we see with the Web3 industry is most products are often not trustless nor not performant enough to contribute to the mainstream adoption of Web3. The Blockless protocol solves this issue by offering a new kind of decentralized network with dynamic subnet formation and consensus, so developers can achieve a desired balance between security and performance for individual applications.

Blockless Function allows you to interact with the Blockless protocol with ease. Deploy on Blockless just like how you would deploy a serverless application on traditional Funtion-as-a-Service (FaaS) platforms.

To help you start building, we’ve orchestrated a list of guidelines and tutorial videos in the link below:

Trigger interface to be made public in May

In April, the engineering team has concluded on-chain payments for Blockless Trigger. We will release the Blockless Trigger interface in the Dashboard over the following weeks.

Serverless triggers not only provide great convenience for constructing robust automation system in applications, but can also serve other infrastructure platforms such as MPC networks for shard aggregation etc. The team has been discussing with several MPC products regarding this use case and will share more updates in separate announcements down the road.

Aggregation consensus mechanism is now available

Result Aggregation is a key feature that we’ve shipped in April for Blockless Protocol. As Blockless aims to enable fully customizable subnets for applications on the Protocol, we offer numerous templates for result verifiability.

For instance, if the operations of your subnet nodes generate boolean results (yes/no), you may instruct the subnet to perform consensus mechanism such as pBFT and RAFT. Blockless also offers ZKP as an option for high-stake executions, which would only require a single computer to perform.

For instance, if nodes in your subnet are individually conducting data calculating, you might wish to perform Data Aggregation from all subnet nodes to guarantee security.

Blockless BD and Ecosystem

Getting Started with Blockless Video Series

We’ve started to release tutoral videos guiding developers to use Blockless CLI, Dashboard, and STDIN. Check them out via our youtube channel and start building!

In the following weeks, we will continue to release tutorials on Blockless Extension for HTTP, IPFS, and S3.

BNB Greenfield Integration

We have finalized integration with BNB Greenfield, and now developers can start building serverless and event-driven logic on top of data stored on Greenfield using Blockless.

In the article attached below, we showcase the workflow for conducting dynamic web hosting in a decentralized manner, as well as building a community-owned publication platform using Blockless and Greenfield.

BNB Chain ZERO2HERO Hackathon

This month comences our collaboration with BNB Chain in launching the ZERO2HERL hackathon. Blockless is offering a $5000 bounty to empower builders working on innovative use cases combining Greenfield and Blockless.

If you are interested in submitting a project, feel free to reach out via our official Discord channel.

StackOS Partnership

Blockless is joining StackOS as a strategic partner to offer WASM-native serverless capabilities to the decentralized computing platform. On the other hand, StackOS and its computing resources enable a more stable and resilient Blockless network. Blockless is also set to be one of the launch partners for StackOS v2, with further details to be announced.

Blockless and StackOS have also conducted a Twitter Space AMA “Bringing WASM-based verifiable deployments to DeCloud”, featuring our CTO Derek Anderson and Vishnu Korde the CEO of StackOS, which attracted close to 1000 listeners.

Hiring

As our products evolve, so does our company’s headcount. We plan on hiring for several roles and expanding the Blockless ecosystem at a much faster rate.

We are also hiring for several key positions:

  • Marketing & Community Intern
  • Distributed Systems Engineer (Go, Rust)
  • Product Designer

To become a part of our team, find more details here.

Want to get the latest updates on our roadmap? Have other ideas for Blockless? We want you to be a part of the community and would love to collaborate!
