Incentivized Testnet Phase 2: The Orchestrator

The Orchestrator is dead. The Orchestrator is live…

Blockless Network is the first modular compute network powered by everyday devices. We’re building a new internet rewarding the people that actually use it. To learn more about how this works, click here — or head straight over to our Litepaper.

But how can a group of computers, laptops and tablets distributed across the world become a fast and reliable network for the applications built on it and the people that use it? The answer is simple — Automated Orchestration. In this phase of our incentivised testnet, however, The Orchestrator has gone missing, so you’ll have to do everything yourself…

Read on to learn everything you’ll need to take part and win in this phase of our incentivized testnet — The Orchestrator.

The Rules

You are a node powering the Blockless Network.

Normally, the node would be embedded within the chrome tab of any Blockless dApp, so you’d provide compute automatically, either through your chrome tab, or through our upcoming chrome extension…

Normally, our network would allocate you the workloads your device needs to carry out, taking into account everything from your geolocation and internet speed, to the core/threadcount on your device and your historic performance with each type of workload. This would be done by our Automated Orchestration tool… but.

Unfortunately, The Orchestrator has gone missing, so you will have to select and process the workloads yourself, along with the help of anyone you enlist.

Here are how things work in Phase 2 of our incentivized testnet:

  • There are no points, there is only time. Accrue time by completing different workloads. We don’t like points — instead, we think the time you spend carrying out workloads should be rewarded. Simple.
  • Different workloads take different amounts of time, depending on their size. Some of them might carry additional rewards or perks, and some might even slow you down.
  • Each map has a fixed number of workloads. Once these workloads are successfully completed, they cannot be repeated.
  • As new users join to power the network, the number of maps added each day will increase.
  • Click on different blocks to begin different workloads. The amount of time spent on each one is equal to the amount of time you will receive.
  • You cannot complete more than three simultaneous tasks.
  • Referring a friend means that they get a 10% boost on time and so do you. Win-win.
  • The leaderboard will display who has accrued the most time and who languishes at the bottom.

Boosts please?

For our community and the friends we’ve made along the way, a bonus.

If you participated in The Button, you’ll receive a 10% boost to your overall Time. We’ll also provide a boost for our friends in the space — so holders of the tokens below will receive a non-stackable 10% boost to their overall time too. This can stack with your referral boosts, so get inviting.

Stepn//GMT — Stepn rewards people for touching grass. We reward them for staying at home. Go off I guess.

Iotex//IOTX — DePin comrades who care about building distributed networks.

Lido//stETH — The team is chill and we think ethereum is pretty cool. Idk.

EtherFi//EETH — Putting power into the hands of users is something we can get behind.

Renzo//ezETH — EigenPilled, they provide security, we provide compute, what’s not to like?

We’ll be adding updates to The Orchestrator soon, but for now — get to work. Time is of the essence.
